Daughn A. Heller

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Daughn A. Heller, 67, died Friday (July 1, 2011) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born Aug. 23, 1943, to Glenn and Lora (Hunsaker) Heller in Oberlin, Kansas. He graduated from Decatur High School in Oberlin and then served in the U.S. Navy from June 2, 1961, until his honorable discharge on July 31, 1964.

On Aug. 17, 1968, he was united in marriage to Judith A. Richter in Hoxie, Kansas. The family lived in Kansas and McCook, Nebraska before moving to North Platte in 1985.

He was employed by Mid-Plains Community College.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Maxine, Glenda and Bonnie.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of North Platte; son, Shandy and wife, Kayleen Heller of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sisters, Roxie Tuller and Ruby Taylor, both of McCook; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were today at 1 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska with military honors.

Cremation was chosen.
