CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Michael Edward Hoberty, 51, died Saturday (June 25, 2011) at his home in Cambridge.
He was born April 14, 1960, in Springfield, Ohio, to Robert Franklin and Virginia Joyce (Corwin) Hoberty. He grew up in the Springfield area graduating from Vandelia Butler High School in 1979.
After graduation, he moved to Florida and began working as a carpenter. He joined the teamster union and worked at the nuclear power plant.
He moved back to Ohio in 1939. He moved to Trenton, Nebraska for work.
He met and married Mary Druse on June 30, 2001, in Cambridge.
He battled his first bout of cancer in 1991, and had been in remission until 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Cambridge; daughters, Jeni and husband, John Kinner of Ohio, and Schyler of the home; step-son, Cameron Druse of the home; son, Benjamin of the home; sister, Terri Lynn of Ohio; and brother, Robert of Florida.
Memorial Mass is Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge, with the Rev. Robert Barnhill officiating. A private family inurnment is at a later date.
Memorials may be left in his name to an education fund being established for his children.
