TOPEKA, Kansas -- Stephen A. Haberman, 66, died Friday, June 17, 2011.

Steve was born Nov. 3, 1944, in Hastings, Nebraska, the son of Hub and Janet Haberman. He graduated from Hastings High in 1962, and from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Steve is a third generation photographer. He owned Haberman of Hastings in Hastings and McCook, Nebraska.

On June 14, 1987, Steve and Janice were married in Clearwater, Florida. They enjoyed 24 years together. He was an active member of First Assembly of God. Steve enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, model airplanes, family and friends and most of all, his walk with the Lord.

Steve was employed by Laird Noller Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Haberman; son, Chad Haberman (Connie) and their children, Rachel, Jordan and Taylor of Okemah, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Michelle Anderson and her son, Cameron Paul of Largo, Florida; step-son, David Parker (Billie Jo) and their children, Raeghan, Kelli and Anna of Jacksonville, Florida; Steve's mother, Janet Haberman of Hastings; sisters, Cindy Frieling of Omaha, Nebraska, Kris Gravelle of Omaha and Jill Stump (Dan) of Kearney, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Vonda McCutchen of Dutton, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hub Haberman.

Memorial services were Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at First Assembly of God in Topeka.

Steve gave the gift of sight by donating his corneas.

He would prefer that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice sent in care of the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka, KS 66614.
