Gilbert 'Bud' C. Reiman

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Gilbert "Bud" C. Reiman, 89, formerly of Benkelman, Nebraska, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Bud was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Dundy County, Nebraska to Charles and Sophia (Reining) Reiman. He attended rural schools in Dundy County.
On Jan. 30, 1945, he was united in marriage to Arlene May Felt. They made their home on the family farm north of Benkelman where they raised their five children. They eventually moved to Benkelman and Bud continued to farm until he retired in 1986. In 2009, Bud and Arlene moved to Willow Ridge Senior Living Community in McCook.
Bud was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing pool and cards. He was an avid reader especially Louis L'Amour western books as well as watching western movies.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Sharon Reiman; one son, Ronald Reiman; and four brothers, Bernard, Wilbur, Gene and Robert.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Reiman of McCook; one son, Joseph Reiman and special friend, Ardith Tracy of Benkelman; two daughters, Bonnie and husband, David Straub of St. Francis, Kansas, and Barbara and husband, Dennis Pinkerton of Benkelman; three brothers, Charles Reiman and wife, Shirley of Wray, Colorado, Jim Reiman and wife, Benita of Akron, Colorado, and John Reiman of Salina, Kansas; three sisters, Evelyn Vig of Torrington, Wyoming, Pat Hays of Palmer, Nebraska, and Catherine Reiman of Palmer; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Wednesday, June 22, 2-4 p.m., MDT, at Forch Funeral Chapel in Benkelman.
Rosary is Thursday, June 23, 2011, 9 a.m., MDT, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benkelman followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Wiedel as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.
