McCOOK, Nebraska -- Janice M. Willet, 87, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Janice was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska on Dec. 4, 1923, to parents, Walter and Mary Etta (Mundorf) Wulf. She was one of four children. Janice grew up in Ainsworth, graduating from high school in 1942.

On Oct. 3, 1956, Janice married Harrison E. Willet. To this union a daughter, Linda, was born.

Janice attended the McCook Christian Church. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the McCook Senior Center and also babysat at the college day care. Janice enjoyed creating pastel drawings, especially scenery pictures, spending time visiting with family and friends, gardening, singing and dancing, and was an avid Lawrence Welk fan.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harrison; brothers, Warren and Gerald; and half-sister, Alvina Mundorf.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Linda Junker and partner, Dwayne Jesse of McCook; former son-in-law, Richard Junker of North Platte, Nebraska; brother, Harold and wife, Mary Ellen Wulf of Peoria, Arizona; sister-in-law, Eunice Wulf of Ainsworth; three grandchildren, Michael Junker and partner, Jessica Brown of Omaha, Nebraska, Melissa and husband, Steve Broomfield of McCook and Matthew and wife, Anna Junker of North Platte; as well as four great-granddaughters.

Memorial services are Friday, June 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.
