Lorna M. Dickey

BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Lorna May Dickey, 85, passed away Tuesday (June 14, 2011) at Hester Nursing Home in Benkelman.

She was born June 30, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of the late Earl and Lilly May (Stewart) Hudson. She grew up in Grand Rapids, where she graduated from high school. She moved to California in 1948.

On Dec. 25, 1949, Lorna married Richard Lewis Dickey in Hayward, California. They made their home in Hayward before moving to Portland, Oregon in 1974. They retired in 1991, moving to Trenton, Nebraska in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on Nov. 9, 1992; two sons, Danny Bushman in 1948 and Thomas Dickey in 1995; and two grandsons, Jarod Berry and Adam Cheatham.

Lorna is survived by one son, John Bushman of New London, Connecticut; two daughters, Darlene Berry and husband, Randall of Trenton, Nebraska, and Barbara Cheatham and husband, Charles of Coarsegold, California; eight grandchildren, Marcy Borland, Shonette Daniels, John Daniels, Shannon Bettencourt, Treena Cardinalli, Jeremy Cheatham, Elaine Berry and Brian Berry; 12 great-grandchildren, Alec, Kailey, Evan, Alisa, Mattie, Jaylee, Amelia, Jacob, Breanna, Ryan, Katie and baby Cheatham.

Graveside services are Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton with family remembrances.

Friends may sign her register and visitation is at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton.
