GOTHENBURG, Nebraska -- Dee Lee Treat, 86, formerly of North Platte, Nebraska, died Wednesday (June 1, 2011), at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
He was born Dec. 9, 1924, to Wilber Theron and Ella Stella Stanley Treat on a farm south of Wilsonville, Nebraska.
On Aug. 5, 1945, he married Margaret Odessa Washburn at Wilsonville and they made their home there on the farm. To this union five children were born, Caraleen, Margaret, Deetta, Mary and Orlan. He continued farming until 1971 then moved to North Platte where he worked at Lepp and Osterloh until they closed.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilsonville and North Platte, a member of the Calvary Assembly Church in North Platte and attended the Evangelical Free Church in Gothenburg.
Survivors include his wife, Odessa Treat, of Gothenburg; his children, Caraleen and husband, Randy Burton of Bellevue, Nebraska, Margaret and husband, David Ruf of Wilsonville, Deetta and husband, Randall Isackson of Gothenburg, Mary and husband, Bert Fitzpatrick of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Orlan and wife, Chawna Treat of North Platte; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Ella Treat; a sister, Agnes Treat; his brother, Curtis Treat; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 6, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at the Evangelical Free Church in Gothenburg with the Rev. Rick Rehmert officiating. Burial is 2:30 p.m. at the Wilsonville Cemetery.
Visitation is 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, and from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore in North Platte, as well as before service time at the church.
