McCOOK, Nebraska -- Anita May Real, age 77, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away May, 26, 2011, at her home in McCook.
Anita was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Hayes Center, Nebraska, to parents William and Clara (Trainer) Crooks. She was one of five children. Anita attended school in Hayes Center.
Anita married Raymond John Real, Sr., on Jan. 1, 1953, in McCook. To this union three children were born; Raymond, Jr., Rebecca and Amy. The family made their home in McCook where Anita worked at Madrell Café and Real's Bar with her brother-in-law and mother-in-law.
Anita enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also had a very special friend, Glora Clark, with whom she enjoyed playing marbles. She also collected dolls and liked going to garage sales. Her dog Mia was her close companion.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents William and Clara; her husband Raymond in 2002; three sisters, Mabel Moon, Maxine Eli and Ruby Nichols; and her brother, Walter Crooks.
She is survived by her daughter Amy and husband Joe Fipps of Davidson, Oklahoma; daughter Rebecca and husband Dennis Decker of McCook; son Raymond Real, Jr. of Donna, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, from 1 to 8 p.m., also at Carpenter Breland. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8.
Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the McCook Volunteer Fire Department.
