Melvin Ervin Bailey

THORNTON, Colorado -- Melvin Ervin Bailey, 74, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, died Saturday (May 14, 2011) surrounded by his family.

He worked for United Asphalts, Inc. for several years as a plant manager.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-62.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Millie Bailey; daughter, Laurie Ann Carlton; brothers, Edgar, Edward and Marlin; and sisters, Ferna and Geraldine.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Rae; son, Ervin and wife, Joyce Bailey of McCook, Nebraska; brother, Dale and wife, Beverly Bailey of Trenton, Nebraska; sisters, Annabelle Ebert, Lola and husband, Roland Wilkie of Culbertson, Nebraska, Shirley and husband, Byron Peters, and Twila and husband, Roger Olsen; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, 1 p.m., at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 N. Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.

Visitation is Thursday, 4-7 p.m., at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton.
