William F. 'Bill' Ridpath

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- William F. "Bill" Ridpath, 74, died April 29, 2011, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1936, in Cambridge to Leon S. and Bernice (Higgens) Ridpath. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. He attended McCook Junior College for two years.
On March 30, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marjorie L. Henner. To this union three sons were born.
He was a carpenter by trade; working in Fort Carson in Colorado for 21 years; later transferring to Fort Ord in Monterey, California. Upon retirement the couple moved back to Cambridge in 1993.
He was a former member of Kiwanis. He was a member of First Congregational, UCC of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim.
He survived by his wife, Marjorie of Cambridge; three sons, Dean and wife, Cindy of Thomas, Oklahoma, Howard and wife, Linda of Cambridge and Fred and wife, Jane of Oxford, Nebraska; sister, Faye Ann Shedd of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were scheduled for Friday, 3 p.m., at First Congregational UCC in Cambridge with Bill Weaver officiating. Private inurnment for the family is at a later date.
Memorials may be left in his name at the church.
