Stanley 'Dee' Dean Hamilton

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Stanley "Dee" Dean Hamilton, 85, of Hayes County, Nebraska, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Stan was born Nov. 26, 1925, to parents Ernest Kay and Artie Sofia (Beebe) Hamilton in Curtis, Nebraska. He was one of seven children. Stan attended school in Hayes County, graduating high school from the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis.

Stan married Monica Josephine Pitner on March 27, 1951, in McCook. To this union three children were born. The family made their home in Hayes County. Stan served his country in the U.S. Army. He received a World War II Victory Medal while in active duty.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Artie; wife, Monica; sisters, Ethel and Fae; brothers, Marvin, Lloyd, Willard and Bob; and daughter, Patricia Bell.

He is survived by sons, Michael Hamilton and wife, Sheri of Maywood, Nebraska and Ernest Hamilton and wife, Marla of McCook; eight grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren; as well as five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dee are Wednesday, 10 a.m., May 4, 2011, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.

Visitation is Tuesday, May 3, 2011, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
