OBERLIN, Kansas -- Donna Rae Eskew, 84, died Tuesday (April 19, 2011) at the OBERLIN, Kansas -- Donna Rae Eskew, 84, died Tuesday (April 19, 2011) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
She was born Oct. 27, 1926, at Arcadia, Nebraska, to Ray McClary and Beulah Cox. She was raised in Arcadia and attended Arcadia High School and Colby Community College.
On Feb. 28, 1946, she married Thomas Eskew. She was a licensed practical nurse at Cedar Living Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eskew on Dec. 10, 1992; her parents, Ray and Beulah McClary; infant brother, Bryce; sister, Arlene Wilson-Chandler; son-in-law, Gary Reiter; daughter-in-law, Gina Eskew; and grandson, Thomas John (T.J.) Eskew.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Eskew and wife, Nikki of Kalispell, Montana, Bruce Eskew and wife, Rose of Buffalo, Kansas, Robert and Barbara Eskew of of McCook, and David Eskew and wife, Karen of Oberlin, Kansas; two daughters, Beverly Reiter and Mary Jo Larson and husband, Wayne, both of Oberlin, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were today at the Oberlin Cemetery with the Rev. Mike McVay officiating. Interment to follow.
A memorial fund has been established in her name to the Oberlin City LIbrary.
Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of the arrangements.
