McCOOK, Nebraska -- Marilyn J. Koetter, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook surrounded by family.

Marilyn was born on Aug. 10, 1932, in McCook to Nile and Opal (Kelley) McKillip. She went to school and graduated from Red Willow schools.

On Sept. 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Koetter. To this union six children were born, Deb, Dick, Diana, Doug, Donna, and Darin. They made their home in the McCook area.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her family and coffee with friends at her favorite donut shop.

Preceding her in death was her youngest son, Darin Koetter; her parents, Nile and Opal McKillip; and four brothers, Barney, Bob, Ron and Jim.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dick; children, Deb (Kent) Meyers, Dick Koetter, Diana Wilkinson, Doug (Mellisa) Koetter, all of McCook, Donna (Mark) Friehe of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Leila Koetter of McCook; 16 grandchildren, Jason (Staci), Jeremy (Bambi), Ryan, Derek (Natalie), Erin (Brent), Justin, Joshua, Lindsay, Kayla, Seth, Olivia, Tara, Mitchell (Kristin), Ross, Logan, and Dalton; five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Dylan, Jaci, Wyatt, Jaden; and a host of family and dear friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Rosary is today, April 19, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook.

Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, April 20, 2011, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour as celebrant. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 19, 2011, 1--4 p.m.
