Jerry Fear

AURORA, Colorado -- Jerry Fear, 78, died at Denver Hospice Care Center in Denver, Colorado.

He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Salem, Illinois, to Herbert and Faye (Bonsengerger) Fear. He was raised in Salem.

He received his education from Southern Illinois University.

He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1952-54.

He was the city administrator in Oberlin for a time.

He married Sonya Eberhard in 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry Joe Fear Jr. and wife, Karen of Florissant, Missouri, Terry Fear and wife, Mary Jo of Richardson, Texas, and Howard Fear and wife, Melissa of Arvada, Colorado; daughter, Kathy Propersi and husband, Dominic of Bloomington, Illinois; sister, Sondra Fear of Springfield, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, Kansas with Bill Duncan officiating. Interment is in the Oberlin Cemtery.

Visitation is Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
