NORCATUR, Kansas -- Agnes G. Pruitt, 94, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas.

She was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Norcatur to Andrew and Leota (Shirley) Johnson.

She was raised in Norcatur and graduated from Norcatur High School in 1933.

After graduation she lived in Wichita, Kansas, Winter Park, Colorado, and Oberlin before moving back to Norcatur.

She married Everett Pruitt on May 1, 1946, in Carthage, Missouri.

She operated a grocery store and cafe.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Norcatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, John and Emery Johnson; and two sisters, Alice Pickett and Barbara Hubbard.

Survivors include nephews and nieces.

Graveside services are Thursday, April 14, 10:30 a.m., at Norcatur Cemetery with Mr. Jim Plotts officiating. Interment is in Norcatur Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.
