ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Charlotte Ida Jeffres, 74, of Upland, Nebraska died Saturday (March 19, 2011), at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Kearney, Nebraska.
She was born May 26, 1936 at Holbrook, Nebraska to Walter and Henrietta (Wendland) Warner. She attended Holbrook High School and graduated with the Class of 1954.
On Jan. 15, 1956, she married Eldon Linner and lived in Norfolk, Virginia for a few months before moving back to the farm south of Holbrook, Nebraska. They ran the tavern in Holbrook for a few years and then later the Arapahoe Country Club. They would later divorce.
On April 22, 1978, se married Donald J. Jeffres at Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in the Gibbon, Nebraska area in 1980. She ran the Lakeview Café in Gibbon for a number of years. She owned and operated the Roses For You flower shop in Kearney, Nebraska. They moved to Upland, Nebraska in the fall of 2010.
She was a 4-H leader and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Nebraska. She transferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowell, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Rollin Warner.
Survivors include her husband Donald Jeffres of Upland, Nebraska; daughters: Chris and husband, Jack Rubenthaler, and Barb Linner, all of Kearney; sons: Jeff and wife Tammy Linner and Dave Jeffres, all of Upland, Dan and wife Alice Jeffres of Lawson, Missouri, Craig Linner of Wimberly, Texas and Scott Linner of Upland; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, with the Rev. James Moshier officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, in Arapahoe.
Viewing and visitation is Wednesday, 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at the Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church.
