Leroy Wilber Lindgren

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Leroy Wilber Lindgren, 84, passed away Thursday (March 17, 2011), at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
Leroy was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Bell, California to John and Cornelia Lily (Clug) Lindgren. He graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Nebraska.
After graduation, Leroy went to the Enewetak Islands in the Pacific Ocean and worked in construction.
On April 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to LaDonnia Kay Lorimer in Winter, South Dakota. To this union two children were born. They made their home in Glendale, California where Leroy worked for the International Union Operating Engineers Local 12 operating heavy equipment. Leroy retired in 1959, and moved his family back to Trenton where he purchased the family farm.
He liked to tinker with his cars and had a passion for all kinds of tools.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother in infancy; and one sister, Evelyn Lindgren.
Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, LaDonnia Lindgren of McCook; son, Darren Lindgren of McCook; and daughter, Jannette Lindgren of McCook; numerous family and a host of friends.

Graveside inurnment is Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Lance Clay officiating.
