LUDELL, Kansas -- Alicia Marie Rippe, 29, died Saturday (March 12, 2011), at her residence.
She was born April 11, 2011, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to Kevin and Jeanette (Downing) Burkhalter. She was raised north of Bird City, Kansas. She attended Cheylin High School and Fort Hays State University.
On Aug. 2, 2003, she married Tim Rippe. The couple lived in rural Ludell.
She was a partner and counselor for Ambience Counseling Center in McCook, Nebraska.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Herndon, Kansas, Christian Mother's Altar Society of Herndon, and the National Board of Certified Counselors.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Arthur "Dude" Burkhalter, Irene Burkhalter, Kermit Downing, and Don Schwerdt.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Rippe; son, Wyatt Rippe, both of the home; parents, Kevin and Jeanette Burkhalter of Bird City; parents-in-law, Richard and wife, Theresa Rippe of Ludell; grandmother, Mary Schwerdt of Benkelman; brother, Beau Burkhalter of Manhattan, Kansas; sister, Jenna Dare and husband, Jonathan of Henderson, Colorado.
Funeral services are Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church in Herndon with the Rev. Nick Parker officiating. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery in Herndon.
Vigil services are Tuesday, 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the funeral home and Wednesday, 8 a.m. until the service, at the church.
