OBERLIN, Kansas -- Marie J. Thomas, 84, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2011), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Salina, Kansas, to Arthur and Madeline (Martin) Nelson. She was raised in Salina.

After her schooling, she lived in Salina, Goodland, and Oberlin, Kansas.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Thomas Sr. of Oberlin; sons, Donald E. Thomas Jr. and wife, Janet of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Dennis Thomas and wife, Kaylene of Oberlin; brother, Albert Nelson of California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services are Thursday, 2 p.m., at Oberlin Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Thomas officiating.

There is no visitation.
