Helen Delores Neiman

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Helen D. Neiman, 73, passed away Monday (Jan. 24, 2011), at Linden Court in North Platte.
She was born Jan. 26, 1937, in Imperial, Nebraska to Clarence C. and Jessie Mae Cornelius Erlewine. She graduated from Perkins County High School in 1955. She attended the McCook School of Cosmetology in 1956.
Helen married Byron Neiman in McCook on Dec. 27, 1956. They lived in numerous places all over Nebraska, finally settling at Lake Maloney in 1993. They played couples golf at the Lake Maloney Golf Course; Helen played ladies golf and was in a Bridge Club for more than 50 years. She was an excellent cook and really enjoyed it.
Helen owned her own beauty shop in McCook and worked in North Platte as a stylist. She worked at Schwesers Clothing Store; and was a member of Eastern Star in McCook. Helen was an extremely hard worker, spending much of her time with Byron doing books for their businesses. She was very committed to her family.
Survivors include her husband, Byron Neiman of North Platte; three children, Kimbra and husband, Tom Buck of Golden, Colorado, Kurt and wife, Ruth Neiman of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and Kendall Ray and wife, Peggy Neiman of Auburn, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Neil Birkby, Dustin Buck, Katlin Birkby, Leslie Neiman, Russell Neiman, Samuel Neiman, Stetson Neiman and Shelby Neiman; two brothers, Darrell and wife, Bev Erlewine of Tucson, Arizona, and Roy and wife, Pam Erlewine of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Reeka Erlewine of Grant, Nebraska; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James.

A memorial service is Friday, 11 a.m., at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior with Father Jeffrey Nelson officiating.
Cremation was chosen and inurnment will be at the Episcopal Church.
Visitation is Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home.
