McCOOK, Nebraska -- Kathryn Ann Wall, 88, died Wednesday (Jan. 12, 2011), at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Indianola, Nebraska, the daughter of the late George and Emillie (Fritz) Wall. In November of 1922, Kathryn was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Indianola, and was later confirmed on May 3, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1940, McCook Junior College in 1942, and received her degree in education from the University of Nebraska College at Kearney, in 1956.

For 30 years, she taught in elementary schools in Nebraska and Colorado.

She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook where she also taught Sunday school, the school of religion, and vacation Bible school for more than 30 years.

She was also a member of the American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the McCook Retired Teachers.

She was preceded in death by her father, George in 1971; mother, Emellie in 1984; and one brother, Don Wall in 1969.

Funeral services are Monday, 2 p.m., at the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Tom Albertson officiating. Interment is in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials may be given in her name to Peace Lutheran Church.

Visitation is Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
