Paul L. Vlasin

IMPERIAL, Nebraska -- Paul L. Vlasin, 64, died Saturday (Jan. 8, 2011), at the Perkins County Community Hospital.
He was born to Dorothy (Johnson) and Stanley Vlasin on June 7, 1946, in Grant, Nebraska. He was baptized into the Catholic faith at the Resurrection Church in Elsie, Nebraska. He grew up on the family farm south of Elsie and attended school in Madrid, Nebraska, graduating in 1964. While in high school he competed in football, basketball and track. After high school, he attended the Denver Automotive Institute.
On Aug. 6, 1966, he married Lana Nordhausen at Mother of Sorrows Church in Grant. To this union three children were born.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley; father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Ada Nordhausen; and a grandson, Austin Spady.
He is survived by his wife, Lana of Paxton, Nebraska; daughters, Michelle Spady and husband, Mark of Imperial and Paula Rosentrater and husband, Mike of Paxton, and son, Troy Vlasin and wife, Lisa of Seward, Nebraska; mother, Dorothy Milner and husband, Dean of Imperial, Nebraska; brothers, Neal and wife, Barb of Madrid and Mike and wife, Peg of Wray, Colorado; sisters, Ann Ross and husband, Joe of Madrid, Janice Kraus and husband, Chris of Hyannis, Nebraska, and Theresa Russell and husband, Dan of Imperial; brothers-in-law, Errol Nordhausen and wife, Patty of Ogallala, Nebraska, and Clinton Nordhausen and wife, Nettie of Imperial; sister-in-law, Nancy Burge and husband, Wayne of Grant; 11 grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral Mass is Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial with the Rev. Bernard Lorenz officiating. Interment will follow at the Madrid Cemetery in Madrid.
Rosary is Friday, 7 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial.
There is no public visitation.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
