Theodore K. 'Ted' Britt

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Theodore Kerwin "Ted" Britt, 80, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 2011), at Highland Park in McCook.

He was born Nov. 14, 1930, in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of the late Theodore and Alma (Giddon) Britt.

On Aug. 8, 1954, Ted married Dorothy "Dot" Somers at Beatrice, Nebraska. The couple came to McCook in 1954, where they taught at the McCook High School.

Ted is survived by three daughters, Jocelyn Sue Carmichael of Indianola, Nebraska, Cory Gean Britt of San Diego, California, and Betsy Somers Fowler of North Platte; son, Ted R. Britt and wife, Monica of Magnolia, Texas; sister, Louverta Brunkow of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements will be announced later.

Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
