TRENTON, Nebraska -- Alice Virginia Gohl, 88, departed this life on Thursday (Dec. 30, 2010), at the El Dorado Manor Home in Trenton.

She was born to Clifford and Elizabeth (Scott) Wilson on Oct. 10, 1922, in Linn, Kansas. She attended school in Hayes County, Nebraska and upon graduation from Hayes Center High School, in 1943, she taught in country schools.

On July 20, 1943, Virginia was united in marriage to Arnold Gohl. Two children were born to this union, Linda and Harlan. They raised their family on the farm until retirement in 1982.

Virginia was active in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson until she moved to El Dorado Manor in Trenton in 2008. She was also a long time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, holding several different offices at various times.

Virginia enjoyed her flowers and garden, her many friends and her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold on April 17, 2000; her parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Wilson; two sisters, Wilma Ridgway and Betty Wilson; and two brothers, Allen and Victor Wilson.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Linda Wudtke and husband, Dennis of Wichita, Kansas; son, Harlan Gohl and wife, Pam of Strafford, Missouri; brother, Wayne Wilson of Montrose, Colorado; five grandchildren, Tamara Davis and husband, Tim of Wray, Colorado, James Wudtke and wife, Christine of Johnson City, Tennessee; Kimberly Retchloff and husband, Barry of Rogersville, Missouri, Michael Gohl of Aurora, Colorado, and Matthew Gohl and wife, Keely of Castle Rock, Colorado; 10 great-grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah, Jotham and Gideon Davis, Elisabeth and Ruth Wudtke, Dexten and Tiya Retchloff, and Elise and Hayden Gohl, and numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Interment is in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m. at the Herrmann Chapel in Culbertson.
