OBERLIN, Kansas -- Clara M. Fringer, 87, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 2010), at Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas.

She was born Feb. 2, 1923 in Cedar Bluffs, Kansas, to Archie and Laura (Bryan) Pryor. She was raised in Decatur County and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1940.

She lived in the Oberlin area after high school.

She was a certified nurse assistant for the Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Mack and Cecil Gragg and Bill Pryor; and two sisters, Vina Berndt and Wilma Coley.

She is survived by her son, Rod and his wife, Pat Fringer of Oberlin; daughter, Cheryl and husband, Leland Stephens of West Richland, Washington; sisters, Bessie Douglas of Floyd, New Mexico; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Graveside services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Oberlin Cemetery with the Rev. Linda Willey.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
