Forrest Murry Nichols

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Forrest Murry Nichols, 64, died Dec. 16, 2010, at his home in McCook.
He was born Nov. 8, 1946, at Danbury, Nebraska, the son of the late Albert Cecil and Retha Aretta (Springer) Nichols. He graduated from the Beaver Valley High School in 1965.
On Sept. 22, 1965, he entered the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War.
In June 1968 Forrest married Mary Cunha. On July 24, 1969, he received his Honorable Discharge from the Navy.
For 32 years he worked for the United States Postal Service in San Jose, California. He retired in 2002 and returned to McCook where he spent the remainder of his life.
He is survived by two sons, Jake Nichols and his wife, Linda of San Antonio, Texas and Max Nichols and wife, Danyel of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Junior Nichols of Kansas, and Donnie Nichols of Danbury, Nebraska; one sister, Doris Horkey and husband, Ben of McCook; and grandchildren.
No local services are planned and a memorial service and inumment will be held later in Texas.
