Jack Olberding

BOULDER, Colorado -- Jack Olberding died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous six year battle with cancer.
He was born July 18, 1936, in Stuart, Nebraska to Louis and Sophie (Kaup) Olberding.
Jack served his country for five years in the United States Navy.
In 1960, he married Jacqueline Russell in McCook, Nebraska. They moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1963 where Jack became a very successful businessman. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, and living life to the fullest. Among his passions were piloting his airplane on numerous adventures and captaining his houseboat on Lake Powell with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jacque; three children, Natalie Valdez (Joe) of Louisville, Colorado; Daniel (Gina) of Fort Lupton, Colorado and Christopher (Becky) of Longmont, Colorado; six loving grandchildren; sister Patricia Benjamin and brother Ron Olberding.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob; sister, Maryann and son, Michael Patrick.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to HospiceCare Center of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 1855 Plaza Drive, Louisville, CO 80027.
