NORCATUR, Kansas -- Forrest D. Jackson, 91, died Saturday (Dec. 18, 2010), at his residence north of Norcatur.
He was born April 23, 1919, on a farm northeast of Norcatur in Norton County, Kansas, to Arthur Raymond and Viola (Wertenberger) Jackson. He was raised in Norcatur.
On March 19, 1948, he married Inez Ervin. He was a farmer on a farm northeast of Norcatur.
He was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin; and two sisters, Esther and Ruth.
Survivors include his wife, Inez of Norcatur; one son, Dewayne and wife, Aurelia Jackson of Norcatur; two daughters, Iris and husband, Mac Bergen of Sutton, Nebraska and Debra and husband, Troy Marshall of Norcatur; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, rural Norcatur, with the Rev. Leon Neher officiating. Interment will be at the Norcatur Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Thursday, noon until the time of the service at the church.
