ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Lisa Dawn Ohrman, 46, died Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2010), west of Bartley, Nebraska as a result of a car accident.
She was born on July 15, 1964 at Holdrege, Nebraska to John A. and Edith Mae (Palmer) Whitbeck.
She lived her early years on the JEM Angus Ranch of Arapahoe and graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1982. After high school she attended Nebraska Christian College, at Norfolk, Nebraska. After college she returned to Arapahoe where she remained until her death.
She raised and trained horses and was an active member of the Quarter Horse Association and the Bulldog Club of America. She was a nail technician and assisted her parents in the operation of the Shady Rest Motel in Arapahoe
On April 5, 2009, she married Darrell Ohrman at the Iron Mountain Country Church, in Federal, Wyoming. They made their home in Arapahoe.
She was a member of the Arapahoe Christian Church, of Arapahoe, Nebraska and was the president of the Arapahoe Alumni Association for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father John Whitbeck, and both grandparents.
Survivors include her husband, Darrel Ohrman of Arapahoe, Nebraska; her mother, Edith Mae Whitbeck, also of Arapahoe; a brother, Larry and wife, Joy Whitbeck of Lincoln, Illinois; and a sister, Cathy and husband, Glen Meyers of Exira, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Arapahoe Christian Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Welch officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, in Arapahoe.
Visitation is Tuesday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at the Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe.
