SELDEN, Kansas -- Lawrence N. Juenemann, 83, died Thursday (Nov. 18, 2010), in Colby, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Sheridan County, Kansas, to Fredrick and Rosa (Kaus) Juenemann. He was raised on a farm near Selden.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On May 25, 1954, he married Mary Ann Schwarz. They farmed near Selden.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus; and American Legion Post No. 321, all of Selden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bernard; and a grandson, Brett Spresser.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Juenemann of Selden; five sons, Larry and wife, Kimberly Juenemann of Chetopa, Kansas, Alvin Juenemann of Colby, Kansas, Daniel and wife, Delores Juenemann of Selden, Steven and wife, Sara Juenemann of Colby, and Thomas and wife, Jan Juenemann of Selden; five daughters, Marilyn and husband, Jeffrey Unger of Colby, Janell Antholz of Rexford, Kansas, Annette and husband, Daniel Spresser of Gem, Kansas, Connie and husband, Patrick Brown, also of Gem, and Susan Juenemann of Wellington, Colorado; four brothers, Norbert and wife, Anne Juenemann of Broomfield, Colorado, Gerald and wife, Arvilla Jeunemann of Selden, Melvin and wife, Lavonne of Norton, Kansas, and John and wife, Henrietta Juenemann of Oberlin, Kansas; four sisters, Rita K. Schwarz of Grinnell, Kansas, Alvera and husband, Sam Long of Beloit, Kansas, Sister Rosalyn Juenemann of Plainville, Kansas, Sister Carolyn Juenemann of Salina, Kansas; sister-in-law, Eula Juenemann of Oberlin; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Revs. Mark Berland and Dana Clark officiating. Interment is at the Selden Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Golden Plains School Music Dept., or the Selden American Legion Post No. 321.
