Zachary Ryan Ronje Cruz

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Zach Cruz, 17, went home to his final resting place Tuesday (Nov. 16, 2010).

Zach was born Aug. 30, 1993 in Waco, Texas. He was a senior at Hitchcock County High School in Trenton, Nebraska.

He loved football and basketball. He considered everyone at school like a part of his family. Zach loved everyone and his spirit will remain with everyone. Zach was loved by his family.

He enjoyed working at the Culbertson, Nebraska pool during the summer, as well as spending time with friends and family. Zach was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend. He had a special place in his heart for everyone. He lit up everyone's lives that surrounded him. He will always be in our hearts.

Zach is survived by his two brothers, John Cruz and Justin Cruz, both of McCook; sister, Eleeza Cruz of McCook; mother and father, Barbara and Alejandro Cruz, of McCook; grandfather, Charlie Ronje of McCook; Granny Virginia Hart of McGregor, Texas; great-grandparents, Oscar and Juanita Hart of Waco, Texas; two uncles, Shannon David and wife, Kristie Ronje and family of Germany, and Shawn and wife, Joddy Ronje and family of Justin, Texas; two aunts, Angie and husband, Clark Pace and family of Hubberd, Texas, and Chrissy Ronje and family of McGregor, Texas; remembered by his best friend and special love, Laura Jo Miller.

A special quote from his brother, John Cruz, "I am he, as you are he, as you are me, and we are all together," The Beatles. Love You Bro!

Now we must say our farewell to a very special young man. He was loved by many. He may be gone, but he will be missed.

Memorial services are today, 2 p.m., at the Hitchcock County School in Trenton with the Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Interment is in the Oakwood Cemetery on Monday in Waco, Texas.

Flowers may be sent to the Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas.
