Larry L. Mizer

JENNINGS, Kansas -- Larry L. Mizer died Tuesday (Nov. 16, 2010), at his residence in Jennings.
He was born March 16, 1927, to Donald and Millie (Carlson) Mizer. He was raised five miles south of Jennings. He graduated from Jennings High School in 1945.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II. Afterward he move back to the family farm.
He was a farmed and rancher.
On July 31, 1961, he married Alice Germeroth in Norton, Kansas. The couple lived on their farm near Jennings until 1983 when they moved into Jennings.
He was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Millie Mizer; son, Jim Foster; and sister, Enid Mizer.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Mizer of Jennings; sons, Gary Foster of Berryville, Virginia, Don and wife, Peggy Foster of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Max Mizer and wife, Kathy Tacha of Jennings; daughter, Barbara Herl of Pleasanton, California; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Jennings with the Rev. Barbara Patterson. Interment is in the Jennings Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home in Oberlin and Saturday, 8 a.m. until the service, at the church.
