Elwood D. Jording

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Elwood D. Jording, 75, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 2010), at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born July 28, 1935, in Decatur County, Kansas to Ewald H. and Bertha (Hoffbauer) Jording. He was raised on a farm near Oberlin, Kansas and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1953. He was a member of the U.S. Army.

On March 8, 1964, he married Ida McGuire in Oberlin. The couple lived in McCook. He was a carpenter. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; son, Gregory; parents, Ewald and Bertha; siblings, Gerald Jording, Joyce Jording, Peggy Jording, Irene Jording, Corene Vernon, and Alene Bailey.

He is survived by his four sisters, Darlene Fisher, Delores Wheeler, both of Oberlin, Betty Rall of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Linda Bosler and husband, Wayne of Herndon, Kansas.

Funeral services are Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Oberlin Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Schnakenberg officiating. Interment is in the Oberlin Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
