McCook, Nebraska -- Veldron W. Hall, 90, died Saturday (Oct. 30, 2010), at the Hillcrest Nursing in McCook.

She was born Feb. 15, 1920 in Red Willow County, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Charles and Millie (Reinheimer) Williams. Veldron grew up on the family farm south of Culbertson, Nebraska, and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1938. She began working as an operator for North Western Bell Telephone where her salary was 12 and a half cents an hour and the phone lines in Mississippi and Arkansas were mounted on fence posts.

On Aug. 22,1946, Veldron married Gordon Hall and they lived in several places with the military and spent 20 years in Greybull, Wyoming. She returned to McCook in 1970 where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon on Nov. 27,1970; three sisters, Fayne Grannis, Laura Buzzell, Velma Steinke who died March 2, 2010.

Funeral services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Interment is in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.

Visitation is Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Memorials may be given in her name and left at the funeral home.
