McCOOK, Nebraska -- Margaret Elizabeth (Allen) Bergin, 86, died in Caņon City, Colorado, Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 2010.

She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Indianola, Nebraska to Earl Vane Allen and Daisy Maybelle (Hines) Allen.

Margaret grew up in Indianola and spent many years working in her father's pharmacy and many years working at Blume's Supermarket in Indianola.

She married Lyle Francis Bergin, April 17, 1948, in Indianola, Nebraska. Lyle and Margaret were married for almost 62 years when he preceeded her in death April 14, 2010. They resided in Indianola until 2002, when Lyle and Margaret moved to Caņon City, Colorado to be close to their family.

Margaret enjoyed playing cards and was active in several card clubs in Indianola. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society.

She is survived by her son,, David Bergin and wife Cathy of Caņon City; daughter, Janet Bergin of Caņon City; and three grandchildren, Daisy Bergin of Concordia, Kansas, Patrick Bergin and Zachary Todd, both of Caņon City.

In addition to her husband, Lyle, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Clarissa Allen.

Memorials are suggested in Margaret's name.

Visitation is Monday, 1-6 p.m., and a rosary will be recited at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Monday, 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola, Tuesday, 10 a.m.
