Frances Louise Nicholson

LEBANON, Nebraska -- Frances Louise "Frankie Lou" Nicholson, 70, passed away Sept. 17, 2010, at her home in Lebanon.
Frankie was born Feb. 23, 1940, to Homer and Dorothea (Halker) Warner in McCook, Nebraska. She was reared in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Laramie, Wyoming, graduating from Laramie High School. After graduating, she lived in Gainsville, Florida for a short time.
She later returned to Nebraska where she met and married Franklin A. Nicholson in 1959. To this union was born a son, Rowland, and a daughter, Rhonda.
The family made their home in and around Lebanon. She took over management of the family farm after her husband died.
Frankie also wrote articles for the Cambridge Clarion and was involved in 4-H. Besides farming, Frankie Lou loved her animals, was an avid reader, enjoyed shooting on Sunday afternoon at the Southwest Nebraska Rifle and Pistol Club, and loved to pencil drawings.
Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin on June 1, 2006; daughter, Rhonda on Aug. 6, 2001; and her parents.
Frankie is survived by her son, Rowland and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Trenton, Erin and Elyse of Eureka, Illinois; sister, Ruth Kanaris of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brother-in-law, Melvin Nicholson; three sisters-in-law, Ida Nicholson, Joyce Nicholson, and Sandra Nicholson; special friend, Steve Chitwood; as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Graveside memorial services are Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Lebanon Cemetery.
