CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Joyce A. Bose, 77, died Sunday (Aug. 22, 2010) at her home.

She was born in Stamford, Nebraska to Clarence and Zelma (Newton) Bose. The family moved to a farm west of Cambridge when she was young. She went to school in Cambridge and graduated in 1949.

She married Howard Ommert, and to this union three children were born: Danny, Randy and Cindy.

In 1968, she commuted from Holdrege to Hastings to attend Hastings Community College where she earned an associate's degree in accounting.

After graduation she was employed by the Axtell Co-op and later for the Industrial Pipeline of Holdrege. The company moved to east of Indianola and she moved back home to Cambridge to continue her work. She retired from the company in 1995.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny in 1976; and special friend, Robert Sughroue.

She is survived by her son, Randy and wife, Jennifer Ommert of Axtell; daughter, Cindy Peterson and Dennis Joslin of Ravenna, Nebraska; son-in-law, Bruce Peterson of Holdrege; brother, Ken and wife, Colleen Bose of Ten Sleep, Wyoming; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild .

Graveside inurnment is in the Stamford Cemetery in Stamford on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Murray Jones will be officiating the services.
