Harvest celebration

Wauneta, Nebraska, celebrates the end of the 2010 wheat harvest with a parade, pool olympics, pedal tractor pulls, volleyball and softball tournaments, movies, run/walk competitions and photo contests. Mason Fanning awed parade-goers with burn-outs in his 1968 restoration project Chevy pickup, and Alondra Almanza, a sophomore cheerleader at Wauneta/Palisade High School, at right, along with seniors Ayla Rector and Joselyn Ramirez, wowed spectators with cheers for their school. Trace Bley and "Super Sassy" the Wonder Dog rode on a float for the First United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School.
