Venus Anita Strayer

KIMBERLING CITY, Missouri -- Venus Strayer, 87, died June 24, 2010.

She was born Nov. 20, 1922, the youngest of seven, to Roy and Merle Williamson in Trenton, Nebraska.

She married Archie A. Strayer on June 17, 1939.

The couple lived in Trenton for several years until moving to McCook where they raised their family.

The couple retired to Branson, Missouri, in 1985.

She is survived by Kay and Ted Banick of Banning, California; Karen and Jack Nichols of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Karole and Ron Hutcheson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Kerry and Kenneth Herrod of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Kent Strayer of Kimberling City; Kim and Kathie Strayer of Omaha, Nebraska; Karla and Michael Heitkamp of Aiken, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City.
