Clyde Edson Smith

ST. FRANCIS, Kansas -- Clyde Edson Smith, 88, died Saturday (June 26, 2010) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

He was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Cheyenne County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Smith in 2007.

He is survived by his three sons, James Smith of Wray, Colorado, Robert "Bob" Smith of St. Francis, and Ron "Buster" Smith of St. Francis; three daughters, Janice Irwin of Haigler, Nebraska, Shirley Smith of St. Francis, Patricia Leisure of Bird City, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis. Burial will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery.

Visitation will be today until 7 p.m. at Knodel Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made in his name to Cheyenne County Hospital and Cheyenne County EMT.
