BIRD CITY, Kansas -- Annabelle Lea Nelsen, 84, died Saturday (June 12, 2010) at the Good Samaritan Village in St. Francis, Kansas.

She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Joplin, Missouri. She spent her lifetime as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nelsen in 2004; and son, Darrel Nelsen in 2004.

She is survived by her three sons, David Nelsen, of Bird City, Doyle Nelsen of Concordia, Kansas, and Dwayne Nelsen of California; sister, Mary Bowers of Philo, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services are on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Bird City. The burial will follow at the Bird City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Knodel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be left in her name to the Annabelle Nelsen Memorial Fund.
