STRATTON, Nebraska -- Sandra Marie Berry, 64, died Monday (June 7, 2010) at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman, Nebraska.

She was born Dec. 11, 1945 in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late John W. and Grace Hellen (LaPorte) Gotham. She grew up in Lowell and attended Lowell High School.

On Sept. 6,1963 she married James William Berry Jr. They spent most of their life in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts before coming to Stratton, Nebraska in 2008 where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Dora Hall, John E. Gotham, Louis LaPorte and Delia Belland.

She is survived by her husband, James W, Berry Jr. of Stratton; one son, James W. Berry III; three daughters, Sandra M. Van Dinter and husband, Gene of Stratton, Tammy A. Goyette and husband, Ray Sr. of Lowell, and Michelle Ercolani of Lowell; four brothers, Harry Gotham, James Gotham, Edward Gotham, and John Gotham; six sisters, Dora Gagne, Electa "Lucky" Gagne, Priscilla "'Chubby" Gagne, Roseanna "Roseann" Padgett, Phyllis Irene Jedney, and Melenia Ann Tallard; 13 grandchildren, Daniel A. Fontaine, Eugene A. Van Dinter Jr., Robert J. Van Dinter, Ashley L. Van Dinter, David M. Dean Jr., Wayne Dean, Crystal Dean, John T. Dean, Ray Goyette Jr., Dimitri T. Berry, Timothy M. Ercolani, Shawn M. Ercolani, Anthony M. Ercolani, relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratton with Father Val Bartek officiating. Another memorial service will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
