IMPERIAL, Nebraska -- Annetta Mae Lee, 88, died Thursday (June 3, 2010), at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1921, in Spalding, Nebraska to Deryl and Kathryn (Gilroy) German. She graduated from Spalding Public High School in 1939, and later attained her teaching certificate. She taught rural country school in Greeley County, Nebraska. She was also employed as an operator for the railroad in Wyoming for a time.

On Nov. 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Emmett Lee at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. To this union eight children were born. They made their home on a farm near Spalding where they farmed until 1966. They moved to Imperial where Annetta was a busy homemaker and mother. They moved to North Platte, Nebraska after her husband retired in 1989 and eventually moved back to Imperial in 2007.

She was a member of the Catholic church, altar society, taught catechism, and was actively involved in bible study and prayer groups. She was a true grandmother being actively involved in all of her grandchildren's activities giving selflessly of her time. She loved her rose garden, working crossword puzzles, cooking for her family, and was an avid Chicago Cub's baseball fan, always faithful to their losing traits.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Deryl and Kathryn German; husband, Robert Lee on Nov. 2, 2009; son, Jerry Pat Lee; and granddaughter, Savannah.

Survivors include her seven children, Becky and husband, Gary Freeman of North Platte, Sue and husband, Cappy Pinkerton of Oxford, Nebraska, Ed Lee and wife, Betty of Imperial, Deb and husband, Dan Widger of Wahoo, Nebraska, James Lee and wife, Sharon of Poulsbo, Washington, John Lee and wife, Tammy of North Platte, and Karen and husband, Ron McMullen of Parker, Colorado; one brother, Dick German and wife, Popsy of Spalding; one sister, Donna and husband, Larry Torson of Greeley, Colorado; 16 grandchildren, Jeremy, Stacy, Robby, Justin, Tiffany, Patrick, Nicole, Emily, Amy, Johnathon, Christopher, Mike, Mikala, Zachary, Cody and Jake; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Mass will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz officiating. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Dolce Sheef Mortuary in Spalding followed by an interment at St. Michael's Cemetery with Father Don Buhrman officiating. Rosary will be Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Liewer Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given in her name.
