Irene K. Gibson, 91, died Friday (April 9, 2010) at Community Hospital in McCook.

On Nov. 30, 1918, Irene was born in Lawrence to Joseph and Mary Magdelena (Grabber) Heilers. They moved to Stratton in 1919, where she grew up and attended school.

She graduated from McCook Junior College and was a dietician at McCook Public Schools.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray in August of 1983; daughter, Anita Kristen; seven brothers and sisters, Nora Raymond, Augusta Anderjeski, Leonard Heilers, Leona Haller, Henry "Hank" Heilers, Aloys "Fat" Heilers, and Rose Farschon.

Survivors include her son, Clifford Gibson and wife, Cathie of Buckeye, Ariz.; two daughters, Sharon Dicke and husband, Dean of Sumerset, Ky., and Kathy Fringer of Scottsbluff; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, William Gerloff.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Rosary will be Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. until time of rosary. Friends and family may also leave condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.
