Arlene M. League

TRENTON -- Arlene M. League, age 74, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Community Hospital in McCook after a courageous battle with cancer.
Arlene was born to Paul F. and Etta G. (Agena) Skraback on August 1, 1935 in Stratton. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1952.
On Dec. 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Richard League at the United Methodist Church in Trenton. They spent most of their married life in Trenton. To this union three children were born, Deanna Kay, Rosalyn Jayne and Rodney Duane.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in McCook. She enjoyed playing bridge and making quilts. She will be remembered for the many baby quilts she made and gave away.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Richard League; and her brother, Roy Skraback.
She is survived by her children, Deanna Stevens and husband, Gerald of Beatrice, Rosalyn Kauffman of Trenton, Rodney League and wife, Patsy of Hamlet; brother, Edwin Skraback of Alaska; sisters, Esther Steinke of McCook, Alberta Anderson of Reno, Nev., LaVeda Moses of Santa Ana, Calif., and Grace Hockman and husband, Jim of Boulder, Colo.; special friend, Wayne Richards; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 12, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating. Burial will be in the Trenton Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be Friday, 9 a.m. -- 5 p.m., Saturday, 9 -- 12 a.m. and Sunday, 4 -- 8 p.m.
