OBERLIN -- Nadine Anderson, 86, died Friday (March 26, 2010) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born July 19, 1923 in Norton, Kan., to Hjalmer Alstrom and Bessie Huff. She grew up in the Lund community southwest of Oberlin. She attended Swede Home School, Decatur County High School and teacher training in Greeley, Colo.
On June 23, 1945, she married Donald F. Anderson at Lund Covenant Church in rural Oberlin. She lived in Jacksonville, Fla., and Boulder, Colo., before moving to Oberlin.
She was a homemaker and bookkeeper at Decatur County Implement.
She was a member of Oberlin Covenant Church, Pi Alpha Club and Gideon International.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hjalmer and Bessie Alstrom; and brother, Max Alstrom.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Anderson of Oberlin; six sons, Roland and wife, Peggy of Topeka, Kan., Alan and wife, Guynn of Baytown, Texas, Kary and wife, Jackie of Oberlin, Kent of San Diego, Calif., Roger and wife, Pamela of Leawood, Kan., and Jeffrey and wife, Gwen of Council Grove, Kan.; one daughter, Marilee Lambert and husband, David of Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Keith and wife, Dorothy Alstrom of Oberlin; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were today, 10:30 a.m., at Oberlin Covenant Church with the Revs. Chris and Sharon Nelson officiating. Interment to follow at Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation was today prior to service.
