OBERLIN -- Eleanore J. Demmer, 94, died Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
She was born March 1, 1916, in Decatur County, Kan., to Benjamin Bryan and Birdie Harshman. She grew up in the Traer area, attending District 98 schools and graduating from Decatur Community High School in 1933.
On July 27, 1940, she married Harold George Demmer. She resided on a farm near Traer prior to moving to Oberlin.
She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Demmer; her parents, Benjamin and Birdie Bryan; infant sons, George and Gary; brothers, Floyd and Wallace Bryan; son-in-law, Rich Grafel and granddaughter, Casey Jo Unger.
Survivors include her two daughters, Carole 'J.R.' Unger of Yuma, Colo., and Connie Grafel of Oberlin; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are today, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Royce Leitner officiating. Interment to follow in Oberlin.
Visitation is today, 8 a.m. until service time, at Pauls Funeral Home.
