Mildred Marie Long, 83, died Sunday (March 7, 2010) at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.

She was born July 31, 1926, at Enders to Theodore William and Susie Virginia (Herbert) Einsphar. She was baptized in Imperial on Oct. 17, 1926, and attended school at Wauneta through the 10th grade, finishing her high school education with a GED.

On May 15, 1943, she married Matthew Haskel (Bud) Long at the court house in McCook. She settled in Wauneta where she made her home until her death.

She worked at the Wauneta Creamery and was employed as a cook at the Wauneta Plains Cafe, also working for Ronald Action for several years.

She became a confirmed member of Redeemer Lutheran Church on Dec. 31, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Ted and Susie; two brothers, Richard and Robert; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Doetker and husband, Virgil of Palisade and Patsy Wickizer also of Palisade; three sisters, Beulah Purdy of Wauneta, Norma Schultz and husband, Joe of Wauneta, and Delores Cappel and husband, Claude of McCook; three brothers, Wayne Einsphar and wife, Shirley of Sutherland, Donald Einsphar and wife, Pat of McCook and Alvin Einsphar and wife, Kaye of Enders; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta with the Rev. Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta.

Visitation is Thursday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (MST), at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.
