Joy G. Eller

OMAHA -- Joy G. Eller was born March 11, 1920, in Alberta, Canada, the youngest daughter of Stephen L. and Fannie M. (Hardwick) Foster. She departed this life, peacefully on Thursday (Feb. 25, 2010) at Omaha, Neb. Joy graduated from the Stratton High School in the Class of 1936,
On June 2, 1940, Joy married Donald D. Eller in Stratton, Neb. They moved to Trenton, Neb., in 1946 where they operated the local grocery store and raised their family. Joy enjoyed her family and many friends and her volunteer work and community activities. She was a wonderful cook and baker as many of her family and friends can attest. Joy moved to Omaha, Neb., in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on May 18, 1980; an infant son, Thomas Dale in 1951; her brother, Glen Foster; and three sisters, Frances Foster, Elsie Trupp and Margaret Meguire; and son-in-law, Leonard LaBonar.
Joy is survived by, and will be missed by, four daughters, Glenda and husband, John Lammel, of Omaha, Neb., Donna LaBonar of Chicago, Ill., Jane and husband, Paul Sharp of Fort Collins, Colo., and Judy Eller of Omaha; eleven grandchildren, Julie Lammel (Denise), David Lammel (Sue), Tom Lammel (Debbie), Lenny Mark LaBonar (Michelle), Matthew LaBonar, Amanda Joy LaBonar, Elizabeth Buck (Jon), Kevin Keller, Jacob Keller (Emily), Cynthia Koster (Brian) and Ashley Andersen (Kyle); and 11 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Lammel, Madison Lammel, Mason Buck, Marissa Buck, Connor Lammel, Makenna Buck, Hannah LaBonar, Cole Lammel, Mylie Buck, Sarah LaBonar and Rio Keller; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Trenton Cemetery at Trenton, Neb., with Rev. Johnny Walker officiating.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Trenton Rescue Squad. Visitation is today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton.
