OBERLIN -- Isolene Carmie Wickham, 88, died Friday (Dec. 4, 2009), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Nov. 6, 1921, at Crawford County, Mo., to George W. and Julia F. (Hilgers) Evans. She was raised in Plainville, Kan., and graduated from Plainville High School.

On Sept. 9, 1938, she married Alvin J. Wickham at Russell, Kan. They lived in Hays, Kan., moving to Oberlin in 1989.

She was a nurse.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin and Victory Rebekah Lodge No. 86 in Hays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Thomas Bunker; and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon and husband, Alvin Johnson of Oberlin, and Glennis Bunker of Sun River, Mont.; brother, George Evans of Harrah, Okla.; half-brother, Riley Veatch; sisters, June Branson of Steelville, Mo., and Georgia Zook of Sweet Home, Ore.; half-sisters, Dixie Brizendine, Oleta Miers and Regina Pursell; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Kanona Cemetery in Kanona, Kan., with the Rev. Kevin Schnakenberg officiating.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Memorials may be made to the Cedar Living Center.
